I am currently a first-year PhD student funded by MRC in Maternal and Fetal Health Research Centre at the University of Manchester. During my PhD, we mainly look into drug transfer through placenta and beta blocker's impact on fetal growth. Main methodology includes animal study, ex-vivo placenta perfusion system and physiologically based pharmacokinetic model.
I am also an alumni from Model-based Drug Development MSc at the University of Manchester, where I was trained in population pharmacokinetic modelling and physiologically based pharmacokinetic modelling. One and a half years' industrial experience followed in the field of quantitative pharmacology.
My PhD topic is: A comparative study of maternal cardioprotective therapy with bisoprolol and nebivolol in humans and rat: application of maternal-fetal PBPK modelling for prediction of human fetal beta-1 blocker exposure
My PhD is supervised by Teresa Tropea, Elizabeth Cottrell, Paul Brownbill (Maternal and Fetal Health Research Centre) and Daniel Scotcher (Centre of Applied Pharmacokinetic Research).
