Biography

Zhipeng Wu obtained his BSc degree in Radio Technology from the Northeast University, China in 1983, and PhD degree in Antennas and Propagation from the University of Birmingham in 1988. He was also awarded a DEng degree by the University of Birmingham in 2003. During 1988-1991, he was appointed as a Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham. In 1992, he joined UMIST as a lecturer. He was appointed as a Professor in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 2005. He served as the Head of the Microwave and Communication Systems Group from 2009 to 2012. He was a Royal Society Industry Fellow in 2012-15, and is currently a member Royal Society Industrial Fellow College.
