The award was received for the paper "Replication of Infant Behaviours with a Babybot: Early Pointing Gesture Comprehension" at the 2019 Joint IEEE 9th International Conference on Development and Learning and Epigenetic Robotics (ICDL-EPIROB19). 3 nominees had been selected among the papers submitted for the MODELBot Challenge by the reviewers. The winner was then decided by audience vote at the Conference, based on which paper best fulfils the requirements of the challenge.
