The editor and co-editors of the Journal of Contemporary Asia are delighted to advise that your article, “Pursuing Post-democratisation: The Resilience of Politics by Public Security in Contemporary South Korea” (DOI: 10.1080/00472336.2015.1094119), which appeared in Vol. 46, No. 2. has been selected as the winner of the Journal of Contemporary Asia Prize for the best paper published in 2016.
The judging panel has awarded you a $1,000 prize and a complimentary 1-year subscription to the Journal.
The criteria for selection include consideration of the scope and aims of the Journal, with the panel judging the ways in which each article provides an alternative perspective on mainstream views on contemporary Asian issues and/or contributes to the development of theory, especially on the role of the state, class analysis, power and globalisation. The selection panel is made up of various members of the journal’s editorial board.
