NWO VENI grant

Prize: Fellowship awarded competitively

NWO VENI grant, € 250k, "Heat and magnetism in one-atom-thick nanoelectronics". In the Netherlands the funding landscape for fundamental research is led by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO), in a similar manner as the Research Councils UK. Arguably, the most highly competitive scheme in the Netherlands is the "Innovational Research Incentives Scheme" by NWO, which comprises three types of personal grants (VENI, VIDI, VICI). The Veni grant is targeted at outstanding researchers who have obtained their PhD within the last three years and enables applicants to do their own line of research.
