Awarded 3-year research grant from the UK’s ESRC-DFID Poverty Alleviation Funds to study the political ecology of waste management in South African cities: “Turning livelihoods to rubbish? Assessing the impacts of formalization and technologization of waste management on the urban poor” (ES/M009408/1). I was lead co-writer of the proposal.
