Project Details

Description

I am completing this project for my PhD. The project is funded by an organisation called NIHR.

The aim of the project is to find out how to improve crisis care services for people with borderline personality disorder (BPD). This is important because service users, their families, and staff have poor experiences of crisis care for people with BPD.

The research has three main parts. In the first part, I will look at what has already been learned about crisis care for BPD. I will sum up the findings in a report called a systematic review. The systematic review will explain what has already been learned about crisis care for people with BPD.

In the second part of the research, I will interview people who know about crisis care for BPD. I will interview service users, their families, and staff. I will ask them what they think would improve crisis care for BPD. By the end of the interviews, I will have a list of ideas for improving crisis care for BPD.

In the third part of the research, I will get a small group of people to look at all the ideas for improving crisis care for BPD. They will vote on the ideas they think are best. I will then use these ideas to come up with a plan for improving crisis care services for BPD.

Service users, their families and staff have been a big part of this project. For example, service users, their families and staff have helped come up with the question I ask during the interviews. The BPD community of service users, families and staff have also helped me understand what I have found during the project. There are many other ways they have also been involved, and I want to say thank you to everyone from the BPD community who have helped with this project so far.
