Fluids Research Group

Project Details

Description

Heat and Fluid flow phenomena are critical to the operation of a diverse range of engineering applications and are equally crucial to environmental and physiological systems. The Fluids Research Group has always maintained strong fundamental research expertise and thus has been able to make original research contributions to topics of high societal importance. The group has developed:
• A Uniquely wide range of expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics
• International Reputation in the Modelling of Turbulent Flow Phenomena.
• Multiple & Long-term Industrial Collaborations in Nuclear Thermal Hydraulics
• Unique experimental facilities in Heat Transfer and Energy Storage.
Our research is addressing many important societal challenges. The development of reliable and cost-effective Gen IV reactor designs, efficient and resilient photo voltaic panels through passive cooling, robust energy storage systems, clean combustion, bio-medical engineering and use of AI to engineering analysis
