Description

A collaborative study between the National Confidential Inquiry into Suicide and Safety in Mental Health (NCISH), the former Offender Management Service (now called Her Majesty's Prison and Probation Service), and the Department of Health and Social Care set up to establish the incidence of self-inflicted deaths in prisons in England and Wales.

The study was funded by the Department of Health. Three reports have been published in 2003, 2011 and 2013.
