Project Details

Description

Mixing is one of the key unit operations in chemical engineering and most operations can’t be designed without fundamental knowledge of the mixing.

The main aim of our research is to advance the understanding of mixing and to help identify solutions for industrial processes. We work across different sectors; including personal care, foods, fine chemicals, catalysis, and polymers; and across different operations; including multi-phase batch mixing, in-line mixing, high-shear systems, emulsification, and impinging jets.

To undertake this research we use cutting edge research techniques; including Process Tomography, Particle Image Velocimetry, and Computational Fluid Dynamics; and high quality research equipment across scales.
