Description
Island communities around the world are facing multiple pressures including climate change, global economic shifts, and development agendas from continental governing powers. These may effect changes to the environment on these islands, which are often prized for their endemism and unique attributes. Natural and social scientific studies into island resilience are frequently separate, and local case-study evidence is rarely conceptualised through up-scaling of results. In contrast, this project will employ an interdisciplinary approach to examine how landscape restoration on St Helena might be understood by different stakeholders, and evaluate how lessons from a cross-disciplinary approach might apply to other islands.
