Suicide in recently admitted psychiatric in-patients: a case-control study

Project Details

Description

In this national population-based control study we compared psychiatric in-patients dying by suicide within a week of admission, with living patients admitted on the same date in order to identify clinical and psycho-social risk factors and variations in the provision of in-patient care.

The study was concluded in March 2011 and was funded by the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA). Findings were published in a research paper in 2013.
