Abstract
The inositol ring in C40H44O6 is in a chair conformation with the O atom at C2 in the expected axial position and the other five O atoms in equatorial positions. The ring is twisted with one approximate twofold axis retained through the mid-points of the C2-C3 and C5-C6 bonds.
