Abstract

We present an automated method for measuring facet specific growth rates by combining a crystal growth flow cell with image processing. This paper details the design of the growth cell and its advantages over previous models. The method of image processing utilizes a Hough transform to identify crystal facets, ultimately leading to facet specific growth rate measurements. Finally, experimental results are presented for facet specific growth rates of αglycine crystals and compared to previous data.
