Abstract
This paper aims do present a case selection process, which culminates in the decision to choose the 2009 Electoral Reform as an adequate object of study when trying to understand women’s political representation in Brazil. To this end, the paper first presents a theoretical discussion about case studies and case selection steps, which is followed by the necessary data analysis in order to select a case and, finally, it reaffirms the importance of selecting the aforementioned case, that is, the “Minirreforma Eleitoral de 2009”.
