    Abstract

A model of material supplier integration in the new product development (NPD) cycle is presented. The model is based on the case studies with 17 Japanese and American manufacturing organizations' successful supplier integration for NPD. It is observed that sharing of technology information lead to a higher level of supplier involvement which consequently lead to higher achievement of NPD team goals. It is suggested that only trusted supplier with aproven track records should be approached for the participation.
