Abstract

Contemporaneous and thorough record keeping
for conscious sedation in dentistry is good
clinical practice; it is necessary to ensure patient
safety and helps protect patients and clinicians
(medicolegally). Clinicians providing a sedation
service should be familiar with guidelines and
their implementation. Record keeping for
conscious sedation in dentistry is a useful audit
topic in both primary and secondary care.
