Abstract

In the Internet of Things (IoT), wireless communication technologies are growing in interest through means of collecting and transferring data without interruption of human activities. The battery-free near field communication (NFC) has the potential to establish a smart wearable system based on textiles by the advances in materials, fabrication techniques and electronics design. In this paper, an overview of techniques and materials in antenna fabrication are presented. The design citations of NFC antenna on electromagnetic and mechanical points of view are presented. Their applications, outline challenges and opportunities of wearable NFC in the future are also discussed.
