Abstract

Comments on the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011, which provides that general elections will ordinarily take place on the first Thursday in May in the fifth calendar year following the year in which the previous general election fell, including the manner in which the Act was introduced, its rationale and its constitutional law implications.
