    Abstract

Polycrystalline CVD diamond samples have been prepared with different electrode configurations, allowing to produce an electric field parallel and perpendicular to the direction of the grain boundaries. A photon beam with an energy of 15 keV was used to study the response with a spatial resolution of about 7 μm. Results on the influence of the field direction on the signal, the pumping effect, and the signal response as a function of the film thickness were obtained. © 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
