Abstract
The orientation behavior of carbon nanotubes was analyzed using a nematic liquid crystal (LC). Single wall nanotubes (SWNT) and multi wall nanotubes (MWNT) were reoriented by reorienting the LC director field. Investigations show the use of a liquid-crystalline host with negative dielectric anisotropy. The results show the light-steered devices in which the reorientation of the LC was induced by light illumination.
