Abstract
An α-ray source was constructed for irradiation of liquids and of solid films. The dosimetry of liquids was carried out by an actinometric method and of solids by a modification of this method. The radial variation of dose over a circular specimen of film was measured by a radiographic method and the results agreed satisfactorily with values calculated from theoretical considerations. The axial variation of dose in a film was also found by the modified actinometric method.
