Abstract
Cross-sectional variation in farm income by region and farming type is analyzed. On average, lowest incomes occur in hill and mountain regions, being lowest in the Welsh Hills region and only slightly higher in the Welsh Mountains and the Pennines. The highest average incomes occur in the Northern Mountains. The analysis by farming type shows higher incomes on the more intensive farms and also on the less specialized farms. -from WAERSA
