Abstract

Evidence to support the benefits of mandatory attendance is unclear. The review used extant data on attendance, engagement and student achievement. Students with 100% attendance and engagement were more likely to achieve an A grade.Findings indicate achievement is nonlinear and maybe related to higher motivation. Nurse education should move away from mandatory attendance polices.
