Abstract
We discuss how to monitor changes in the numbers of British terrestrial mammals, make specific recommendations for the most appropriate monitoring techniques for each species, and explain how these should be integrated into a co-ordinated mammal monitoring programme. © 2004 Mammal Society, Mammal Review.
