Abstract

Online sex work is varied and can involve non-interactional work, for example through the use of web cams; or it can be used as a site to advertise and promote the physical sexual contact services offered by an individual. In the current research, it is the latter that is primarily the focus of attention. In exploring the support needs of this group of workers, the research team has performed an online audit of adult sites from which to gain a better understanding of the working environment of online sex workers. It has also examined the existing online support structures in place for female sex workers.
