    Abstract

The results of angular measurements of the remanent switching fields for granular perpendicular and longitudinal magnetic recording media were discussed. The results were compared to idealized models of magnetic switching. It was found that Co alloy longitudinal and perpendicular recording media have a Stoner-Wohlfarth switching character at vibrating sample magnetometer time scales.
