Application of some approximate similarity laws in hypersonic aerodynamics

    Abstract

    Widely used simplified mathematical technique made it possible to obtain a number of practically important relationships in gas dynamics. Considering that the convergence of obtained asymptotic solutions for hydrodynamic nonlinear equations has no mathematically rigorous demonstration the problem of applicability of approximate similarity laws is of interest. On the basis of numerical solution of equations of full viscous impact layer for hypersonic flowing around blunt cones the field of application of some similarity relationships is determined for coefficients of heat exchange, friction and resistance.
