    Abstract

X-ray tomography was employed to quantify the distribution of TiB2 particulate in aluminum. The characteristics of the volume percentage and distribution of reinforcement particles in metal matrix composites were investigated using titanium diboride. Results of tomographic studies suggested the suitability of technique for investigation of three-dimensional (3D) distribution of particles within a metal matrix.
