    Abstract

The early premature contact, between the neighbouring structural components like, coaxial tubes, in process plants and nuclear industry over a period of service is not acceptable due to the safety concern. The detection of such a contact at an early stage is important for the safe operation of the plant before the occurrence any accidents. This paper presents the use of the bi-coherence in the detection of an early contact between two such components using the vibration responses through a simulated experimental example. © Krishtel eMaging Solutions Private Limited.
