Abstract

We must start by thanking the editors of the journal for suggesting our book be discussed in this forum, and to our three reviewers – Bernie Lightman, Margaret Derry, and Rachel Ankeny – for their participation. It is a privilege to have one's work subject to collective scrutiny by such experts and we welcome the opportunity this gives for further and greater depth in the exploration of the many issues we raise in The Invention of the Modern Dog.
