Abstract

Psoriasis is a chronic, immune-mediated inflammatory skin disease affecting approximately 2% of the population.1 It is associated with multiple comorbidities including arthritis, cardiovascular disease and the metabolic syndrome and as such is widely regarded as a systemic inflammatory condition.2 Depression is also overrepresented in psoriasis3 and may itself have a systemic inflammatory component to its aetiology.4 This article is protected by copyright.
