Abstract
The number of trainee teachers on PGCE courses in Economics and Business continues to be well below the target set by the Department for Education. This is especially the case in Economics, where this figure has been 20 or below for the last 5 years. The article considers why this is the case and considers the impact of the training bursary in 2020/21 on teacher supply in these subjects.
