Abstract
The requirements for business success today have changed dramatically from those of yesteryear. Customer focus is now the most important determinant of business success and consequently marketing, the segment of management practice that deals with company-customer relationships, is a powerful force in today's society. The author argues not only that it is necessary for engineers to be well-versed in the art of management but that they have the unique ability to be so.
