Abstract
Computer simulation provides a useful tool for staff training in conditions where experimentation is usually impracticable. The modern microcomputer has given rise to a new generation of simulation training aids whose advantages are already being realised in many areas of industry and commerce. A new retail training simulation, developed at UMIST in conjunction with a major retail employer, is one of the latest in this field.
