Abstract
Comments on Lopez Ribalda v Spain (1874/13) (ECtHR) on whether an employer's use of hidden cameras to investigate loss of stock in a supermarket, the use of footage as evidence, and the enforcement of settlements under which employees agreed not claim unfair dismissal breached their right to a fair trial and respect for privacy contrary to ECHR arts 6 and 8. Notes the relevance of necessity and outlines varying levels of reasonable intrusiveness.
