Char gasification kinetics using non-isothermal TGA

    Abstract

    The gasification kinetics in CO2 of Shenfu char was investigated using both isothermal and non-isothermal TGA. In non-isothermal TGA, Doyle and Coats-Redfern approximate equations can be used to simulate char gasification behaviors. Comparing with E obtained via isothermal TGA, two approximations obtained the best yield at different heating rates, respectively. After comparing correlation coefficient of approximate simulations, it is found that the optimum method to calculate gasification kinetics parameters is using Coats-Redfern approximation in non-isothermal TGA and at a heating rate of 15 °C/min.
