Clinician and medical student attitudes towards virtual clinical experience in the University of Manchester MBChB programme

Research output: Contribution to conferencePosterpeer-review

Abstract

With increasing student numbers and continuing placement challenges in General Practice there are significant concerns about students gaining quality time in general practice placements [1]. It is recognised that time spent in authentic Primary Care settings is correlated with numbers of students subsequently choosing to work in Primary care as a career. Manchester has traditionally scored low for medical students choosing GP. We are exploring virtual clinical experience (VCE) to create an ‘authentic’ simulated GP environment to augment clinical placements.
