    Abstract

This paper describes how the communication of colour specifications between design and technical production personnel has been improved using calibrated on-screen colour and digital networking. A novel colorimetric model of textile textures is described and close electronic calibration between all those contributing to design, product development and production is described. Significant savings in complexity cost and lead time for achieving correct colour and technical specifications are reported.
