Compton scattering and nucleon polarisabilities

    Abstract

    We review the use of chiral EFT to extract values of the electric and magnetic polarizabilities of the proton and neutron from Compton scattering data, and consider the potential of planned experiments at MAXlab and HIGS for better pinning down these and also the spin polarisabilities.
