Abstract
The recent turn in feminist policymaking at a global level has been the cause for some optimism amongst scholars and activists alike. Over the last decade especially, the explicit consideration of feminism has played a role in re-imagining a range of policy thematic areas such as foreign policy, peace and security, and tax justice among others. Yet, while these new interventions in global policymaking allow for serious considerations of what feminism means in the policy space, a fairer and more just world remains elusive constrained by institutions, actors, and especially by crises. As demonstrated by the other chapters in this volume, what feminism in policymaking means and can make possible in a turbulent world is contested, often limiting, and limited.
