Abstract

Climate change is one of the main environmental challenges that governments, companies and citizens will face in the coming decades. The study of the amount of greenhouse gases that are produced during the life cycle of a product or a service is of special interest for organizations and individuals to know their contribution to climate change.
According to data from 2007, Galicia is responsible for 37% of milk production in Spain, which is the seventh largest producer in the European Union [1,2]. Previous studies on milk production have shown the environmental importance of cattle feed, where dehydrated alfalfa plays an important role [3]. It follows that, although Galicia is not a producer of alfalfa, it is a consumer, therefore playing an important role.
