Abstract

The authors regret that the third sentence of Materials and methods is incorrect. The correct sentence is presented below. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. In the third sentence of Methods, the following sentence needs to be corrected: To instrument IL-5i, we selected single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in or near the IL5 gene (build 37, chromosome 13: 1877136–131892530) ± 50 kilobases that were uncorrelated (linkage disequilibrium threshold of r 2 < 0.1 using the 1000 genomes project as reference panel) and associated with eosinophil count at genome-wide significance (p < 5 × 10 −8). The text in bold should instead read: To instrument IL-5i, we selected single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in or near the IL5 gene (build 37, chromosome 5: 131877136–131892530) ± 50 kilobases that were uncorrelated (linkage disequilibrium threshold of r 2 < 0.1 using the 1000 genomes project as reference panel) and associated with eosinophil count at genome-wide significance (p < 5 × 10 −8). The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
