Abstract
This piece builds on research suggesting a mistrust of the Prevent duty from some community groups and the need, identified in A Shared Future, the Mayor of Greater Manchester's report into hateful extremism (2018). It argues a need for greater transparency in the use of Prevent referral data, including those that do not meet the threshold for a Chanel referral, including feedback to institutions involve, such as schools and colleges.
