Abstract

The Centre for Critical Incident Research (CCIR), located at the School of Psychology, University of Liverpool, UK, focuses on understanding the process of critical-incident decision management in law enforcement, through collaboration among academics and practitioners. Underpinning this work are principles based on pragmatic and naturalistic approaches, where researchers consider specific problems faced by practitioners (e.g., Cannon-Bowers & Salas, 1998; Fishman, 1999, 2003, 2004).
