Abstract
The textile industry in the UK is under the period of resources re-allocation and technology upgradation for revival. The author introduced and adopted a novel strategic tool - Industry Technology Roadmap to draw long-term plans for the repatriation of the textile industry to the UK. This article firstly conducted an in-depth research on current status of the UK textile industry and then proposed feasible plans for its sustainable development. Through data mining of industrial resource distribution and academic research strength, industrial supply chain and innovation chain of the UK textile industry were investigated. Based on the results, SWOT analysis and a comprehensive industrial technology roadmap were created for strategic planning, which might contribute its originality and innovativeness to the literatures.
