Abstract
The paper deals with some features concerning the design of a high speed brushless PM micro-motor. Some configurations are considered and analyzed, both for the magnetic structure and for the windings; on the basis of the performances and the manufacturing process, the best solutions are chosen. Losses, in case of PWM supply, are evaluated by FEM simulations, and a temperature analysis is performed by means of a thermal network. The data of the designed machine are reported, and its performances are verified by FEM and electromechanical transient simulations
