Abstract

The present invention relates to a device for creating a working space within a human or animal body. The device comprises an outer wall 3 comprised of an auxetic component which is configurable to adopt a non-expanded condition and an expanded condition. When the outer wall is in the expanded condition it defines a hollow body 2 having an inner cavity 4 in communication with an orifice 9 for location adjacent a working site within the body such that the working site can be visualised and/or accessed via the inner cavity and the orifice. The body may be sphere shaped and have apertures 5 in its outer surface. A hole 10 and port 11 allows the device to be inflated.
