Abstract

The term diagramma can refer to a decree of a polis and of a federal state or most commonly to an ordinance or law in the form of a letter issued “in the name of the kings” by the royal chancery of the Macedonian and Hellenistic kingdoms. The latter dealt with several subjects such as establishing a new constitution, the recall of exiles, the creation of a new law code, court procedures, solving border disputes, and prescribing a tax law.
