Dielectric relaxation of di-n-hexyl ketone and di-n-nonyl ketone in cyclohexane solution

    Abstract

    Dielectric loss data are presented for solution of di-n-hexyl ketone and di-n-nonyl ketone in cyclohexane. It is shown that the relaxation process in both systems is not represented by a single relaxation time, but may be adequately represented in terms of a correlation function of the empirical form φ(t) = exp - (t/τo)β where β = 0.73. The relevance of the present data to relaxation processes in polymers is considered. © 1971.
